2019 Kitchen Trends

C3 Cabinetry is back from the 2019 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) where the latest products, trends, and technology in the industry were showcased. We would like to share the latest trends with our trusted clients!

More Color

All white kitchens and stainless appliances, while attractive, have become commonplace. To add a little life to an otherwise bland design, homeowners can add some color by incorporating colored appliances into the space. A colored range can be used as a statement piece or a subtle backdrop for cabinetry. For the bold, an entire suite with a refrigerator, range, and dishwasher panel can make a fearless statement, while the timid can go for smaller portions of color on appliance knobs or pulls. With a tremendous palette of colors to choose from, including the popular choices of turquoise, beach blue, buttercup yellow, and cherry red, colored appliances change the entire look and feel of the kitchen.

Rich tones

Designers are moving away from the classic white and soft grays of the past towards deep, rich tones and dark woods. This shift offers a refined atmospheric feel and injects some character and warmth into a room. By using deeper shades of the color wheel, including navy, charcoal, and hued grays through paint and cabinetry, homeowners can add a richness that contrasts beautifully with the warmer tones and surfaces found in flooring and countertops.

Brass and Copper Fixtures

Once considered old-fashioned, yellow metals such as brass and copper are replacing stainless steel, brushed nickel, and chrome finishes for faucets, sinks, and light fixtures. This shift adds a warmer, less industrial aesthetic to kitchens and baths. The reflective textures are used to accentuate style and can add hand-wrought workmanship and artistry to the most frequently used rooms in the home.

Statement Hoods

Hood manufacturers combine cutting edge design and state-of-the-art performance to evolve these necessary components from grimy eyesores to works of art. A properly selected hood can offer a stunning piece to draw the eye or an interesting piece to offer textual contrast. From a rich, old-world vision to modern, sweeping contours, the options are limitless. Fully customizable with a wide range of metal options and a variety of colors, trims, and finishes, the right hood can transform the entire vibe of your kitchen.

Large Drawer Bases

Once reserved for silverware and dish towels, kitchen drawers have come a long way. Well-built, large drawer bases offer generous drawer space to house a multitude of kitchen items. With soft closing glides and the addition of sliding roll trays, the drawers can do double duty. No more climbing through cabinets or hitting your head to find what you need because this addition to your cabinetry can beautify and add functionality to make kitchen life more convenient.

Moveable Island Countertops

Everyone has heard of an island that is portable. But with improvements in technology and manufacturing, some companies are taking it a step further. A large island serves as a beautiful statement piece, but what about a moveable overhang that slides out only when you need it? Stone fabricators and cabinetry installers can collaborate to create a sliding second-layer surface that operates with ball bearing glides to expand the island area on as as-needed basis. This expensive yet practical feature can bring even the smallest kitchen to optimum functionality.
